Graduate applicants are required to apply and be accepted by the Virginia Tech Graduate School.
Prior contact with Prof Tallon for this first step of the application is not required, but definitely is recommended.

PhD Student - Position 1
Preferred commencement date: Fall 2024 
Topic: Near-net-shaping and Additive Manufacturing of UHTCs for extreme applications
Specific Selection Criteria (additionally to Virginia Tech Graduate School criteria for admission): 
- Experience with powder processing
- Knowledge of materials characterization techniques
- Self-motivated and enthusiast student

PhD Student - Position 2

Topic: Ceramic Coatings for High Temperature Applications
